Statements of Protocol and Memoranda of Understanding
Statement of Protocol
To facilitate the FRC in discharging its statutory oversight duty effectively as the independent auditor regulator of Hong Kong, the FRC signed a Statement of Protocol on Oversight Arrangements with the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants in 2019.
Revised Statement of Protocol on Oversight Arrangements
FRC and the HKICPA signed a Revised Statement of Protocol on Oversight Arrangements on 16 August 2022 which includes AFRC’s broader responsibilities to oversee the HKICPA’s performance of its statutory functions under the further reform of the regulatory regime of the accounting profession which commences on 1 October 2022.
Memoranda of Understanding
The AFRC believes that the globalisation of financial markets and the increase in cross-border investment activities require greater levels of collaboration and mutual reliance among regulators. Over the years, the AFRC has been fostering effective collaborations with the following regulatory and professional bodies in Hong Kong, Mainland China and overseas through signing Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with the aim of enhancing investor protection:
